Kuta was discovered by Aussie surfers in the early 1970 by its natural attraction of a broad, sloping beach, a pounding surf and a beautiful sunset. The original villagers were mostly farmers and fisherman and that's why if you are even seen the village before 80's you still find a lot of fisherman's on the beach on their daily work catching the fish from the ocean.

Then after many and many tourist coming to the village, many local rent their rooms for visitors for a few dollars. That's why you will find lot of home stay, family manage, simple at this area. Lately 3 or 4 star hotels were built to cater middle up tourist and really the beautiful sunset have invited more and more foreigner or local to come to this region. But apart as the most rapidly developed region in the island, the building style still looks their local tradition on the architecture, decoratively roofed, curved door style and also the maintained Balinese Garden.

Tuban and Kuta area are about 05-10 minutes drive from Bali International airport has good beach for swimming. On the southern area is more suitable for a family holiday as many hotels are having a kid's club facilities and a generally spacious hotel's garden.
